Merrill Laura Cox Cash passed to eternal rest at 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 17, 2017. She was born on February 12, 1927 in Paron to Charley Cox and Tennie Louallen Cox who preceded her in death. Her brother Orville Cox and son James Raymond Cash, Jr. also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cash is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Raymond Cash and a daughter Janet Lee Cash both of Benton.
When marrying into the Cash family,she happily inherited 14 brothers and sisters and their spouses. She is now survived by Lorene Weise, Catherine Inman, Alton Cash, Alma Raper, Shirley Evans, and Joan Bowers, a host of nieces and nephews and 2 granddaughters.
She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Benton. She is often recognized around town because she worked in retail sales in Benton for years. She made many lifetime friends through her work at West's Department Store.
She was a wonderful seamstress and loved planting spring flowers.
Although she missed being at her home, she was well-cared for these past three years by the wonderful staff at Heartland Rehab. They touched her life and she touched theirs as well.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Fairplay Cemetery with Father Michael Bass, Father Paul Worm,Brother Scott King officiating.
Pall bearers will be Tom Wallace, Jarvis Harper, Marc Scarlett, James Patron, Bud Evans, and Sam Hayre.
