Omar Benton Smith, 92, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2016 at Stanly Manor.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 2:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brian Franklin will officiate and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Smith was born on October 30, 1923 in Stanly County to the Archibald and Pearlie Benton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Boone Gaddy Smith; 10 brothers and sisters; and 3 children: Luther Smith, Jimmy Smith and Dorothy Swaringen.
She is survived by her children: Betty Bigelow, Billy Ray, Danny Joe, Roy Evans, and David W. Smith, all of Albemarle; 18 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
