Gary Dennis Acker of Warrenton, VA died on September 24, 2016 at Haymarket Medical Center. He was born in Denver, CO on July 31, 1950.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Forest E. Acker, and his brother, Steve Acker. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan Acker of Warrenton, VA; his mother, Mary Jo Stark of Arvada, CO; and his children, Joell Press of Golden, CO, Lisa Dorsey and her husband Chris of Arlington, VA, and Laura Acker of New York, NY. Also surviving are his sister, Debbie and her husband Clint of Arvada, CO and his grandchildren, Alexis Press, Austin Press, Evelyn Dorsey and Jacob Dorsey.

Gary enjoyed gardening, watching lakeside sunsets, and spending time with his cat, Chelsea. He also enjoyed camping and fishing in his beloved Rocky Mountains. He was the owner and operator of Sue's Laundromat of Warrenton.

Services will be held in Arvada, CO at a later date to honor his life. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9702 Gayton Road, Suite 110, Richmond, VA 23238-4907.
