Connie L. Hornbaker, 72, of Mercersburg, died Thursday evening June 15, 2017 at her home.
Born January 19, 1945, at Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Helen Harnish Atherton.
Connie was a 1963 graduate of James Buchanan High School. She was employed at the former Stanley Company of Chambersburg for 12 years. She retired in 2016 from the Tuscarora School District, where she spent 16 years with the cafeteria staff at St. Thomas Elementary School.
She enjoyed gardening, loved her family and caring for her grandchildren, and reading.
Surviving family include her husband, William Ray Hornbaker, whom she married May 29, 1964. A son, William V. (Patricia) Hornbaker of Mercersburg, two grandchildren, Shawn Hornbaker and Brittany (Jacob) Stuller, three great grandchildren, and a sister, Kay (Rodney) Funk of Waynesboro.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 20, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, with Pastor Jonathan Laye officiating. Burial will be at Meyers Cemetery, Mercersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
