Steven Mitchell Sumner, 55, of Omega passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at his sister’s residence in Omega. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Paul Brewer officiating. Mr. Sumner will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery
Born February 2, 1962 in Tifton, Mr. Sumner was the son of Mary Hinson Sumner of Omega and the late Rudolph Sumner. He was presently serving as Vice President of the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Association and was a partner in Quality Growers Gin and Peanut Company in Omega. In high school, he was very involved in the Future Farmers of America Club.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Sumner is survived by two son; their mother; two sisters and one brother-in-law; one granddaughter and a niece.
