Phillip Eugene Shelton, 74, of Union City passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at his home in Maryville.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Eddie Mallonee and Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hargrove, Steve Hopkins, Mark Ward, David Holland, Sisca Yates and Hank Keeling.

Phillip was born March 27, 1943, in Mayfield, Kentucky, son of the latte Hattie Shelton Boyd and Arnold Eugene Shelton. He married Claudette (Owen) Shelton March 15, 1963. Phillip served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1970. He retired after 32 years of service with the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City.

Survivors include his wife Claudette; his son, Owen (Elizabeth) Shelton of Maryville and their two children Veronica and Sabrina; his daughter, Tara (David) Keeling of Union City and their three children Aleigha Beth, Aubree Anne and Andrew; and his sisters, Zadonna (Doug) Rial and Jane (Donald) Charlton.

Phillip was also preceded in death by his half brother, Scott Boyd.
