SUDDEN DEATH H.L. HAUSER PROVES SHOCK TO FRIENDS

Travelling Representative San Antonio Express Was Well Known Here Where Frequently Visited

The many friends in this city of H. L. Hauser, traveling representative of the San Antonio Expressed, were shocked to learn of his sudden death in Lockhart, as he was in Laredo about a month ago circulating among his many friends and patrons of the Express here and appeared in his usual good health. Referring to his death the Express, under a Lockhart date, had the following mention.

Funeral services of the late H. L. Hauser, traveling representative of the San Antonio Express, whose death occurred here last night, were held today. They were conducted by Rev. A. L. Scarborough and burial was in the Lockhart Cemetery.
Mr Houser was born in Delaven, Wis., March 17, 1862. His brother was editor of the Methodist publication at Milwaukee and Mr Hauser soon followed him into the newspaper work. For several years he was an editor of the St. Paul Pioneer Press and later he went to Boston where he represented a syndicate of twenty-six newspapers. Returning to Chicago he edited Headlight Flashes, a railroad man's magazine for fourteen years Later he went to Mexico and returning to Texas from there, became identified with The Express. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Lient. Stanley Hause, now stationed at the mobilization depot Camp Sevier, Alabama. Several of Mr. Hauser's relatives are prominent in Methodist activities. A brother J. B. Hauser is a missionary in Santiago, Chile: another brother, now dead, was for sixteen years a missionary in India. Another brother J. P Hauser of Aberdeen, S. D.
