David Louis Stephen Bowling, having endured and finished the race, departed this life and entered into Eternity on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

David leaves to reminisce and celebrate his life his mother, Mary Ellen Bowling; his siblings, Dexter Bowling Sr. (Angelia) and Regina Toms of Lynchburg; Matthew Toms Jr. of Charlottesville, Ruth Toms and Nancy Carter of Amherst, Sarah Thompson (Isaiah) and Belle Thomas (Leonard) of Roseland, Va., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Lynchburg Dialysis Center, Horizon Behavioral Health Agency, Support Systems Inc., Lynchburg Nephrology Physicians, Centra Health and Major’s Medical Transport.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Bread of Life Church in Rustburg. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Garden in Massies Mill, Va. His remains will be open to the public one hour prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will assemble at the church. The family is receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at Community Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to [email protected].
