Andrea Luker Walker, 70 of Woodstock, died June 12, 2017 at Northside Cherokee Hospital with family by her side after a short, but fierce battle with cancer. Andrea was born February 3, 1947. She was the oldest of two children born to Sylvia and Cecil Luker.

She graduated from Livingston State College with a degree in English. Finishing in three years, working and going to school in the summers. She made America’s Who’s Who of college students in 1968. She was an English teacher for four years, a stay at home mom for her only daughter Allison for 11 years, and then worked for 28 years at E.T. Booth middle school, where she was a principal’s secretary for eight different principals. She was happily married for 47 years to David Alan Walker. They met in Huntsville Alabama.

She is survived by her husband David Walker; her daughter Allison Woods and her husband Jim; her grandchildren Rillian, Angus, Ruby and Rose Woods; her brother Kenneth Luker; nephew Christian and his wife Jackie and their children; and many extended family members.

Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home with Joe Buckner officiating. Interment services were held at Georgia Memorial Cemetery in Marietta, GA with Angela McPherson Keener speaking.
