They had three children, Ondrea McKee, Rudy Johnson and Roseanne Jensen. Doreen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed serving in numerous callings throughout her life. She enjoyed serving as a stake missionary and as Gospel Principles teacher.

Doreen worked several years as a nurse's aide in the Logan Hospital, where she loved helping and serving those she met. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and drives up the canyon with Reed. Doreen was an active member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Doreen and Reed were married 57 years before he passed away in 2004. Following the passing of her beloved husband, Doreen served as an LDS missionary in the Houston Texas South Mission from 2006-2007.
