Funeral Services for Carl L. Franks Sr. are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on Friday June 26, 2015 at the Tabernacle of Praise Full Gospel Church with Elder Marshall Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in Clearview Cemetery.

Carl was born July 27, 1937 in Ardmore. He was the son of the late Almos Macie Sylvester and Lily Mae (Stevenson) Franks.

He passed from this life in Ardmore on June 17, 2015.

Carl accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Corinth Missionary Baptist church in Ardmore, OK. He also served as a deacon there for many years.

He was a 1958 graduate of Douglas High School and attended area colleges, trade schools in Southern OK.

He was an engineer for Montgomery Wards for thirty one and a half years, retiring in 1999.

Carl and Flora French were married on January 3, 1998 in Ardmore.

Carl loved his family and friends, he always greeted them with a hand shake and a word of cheer, from the eldest to the youngest. He has shared with us many birthdays, holidays and other special memories that will last a lifetime. He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Flora, sons; Carl Franks Jr. and his wife Clinette of Norman, OK, Ricky Franks of Tulsa, OK, and Vince Franks of Tulsa, OK. Daughters; Lorriane Samuels and her husband Mandel of Rogers, AR, Rita Allen of Dallas, Texas, Brother; Thesis R. Franks of St. Louis, MO.

Stepchildren; Dennis and his wife Cynthia French of Oklahoma City, OK, Carolyn Kemp and her husband Reggie of Oklahoma City, OK and Brenda French of Ardmore;

Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jody Franks, sister, MaxCine James, Brother in law, Bruce James and Sister in Law, Lundia Franks. Pallbearers will be Maurice Grant, Quinton Grant, Reggie Kemp, Arvis Battle, Tim Glover, Robert Jones, T.C. Hill, and Nathan Thomas.
