Nancy Montgomery, 78, passed away peacefully and joined her son Keith in Heaven on June 13, 2017.

Nancy was born on October 2, 1938 in Crosby, North Dakota to Lester and Alice Engh. She was the oldest of three children and was very close to her brothers Howard and Jerome. In her early childhood, she loved spending time at her grandparents Arnold and Emma Moum’s farm southeast of Crosby and enjoyed taking her children there whenever possible. She loved sharing her happy memories of the farm.

Nancy married Ed Montgomery in 1956 in Crosby and together they had six children. Nancy and Ed lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, California and Oklahoma. She moved with her children to Plentywood in 1972 to be closer to her mother and brothers, where she resided until her death. Nancy worked hard to provide for her kids including working at Four Winds, Anthony’s and as a CNA and physical therapy aide. Nancy’s greatest joy was her family and she was their rock. She acquired several extra children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren over the years.

Nancy loved bowling, dancing, and anything olive green. She loved being actively involved in her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives. She was very proud of them all. She was a loyal Mon-Dak Thunder, Westby Rangers, Williams County Firestorm and Ray Jay fan. There weren’t too many people who didn’t know that the Mon-Dak Thunder coach was her grandson. She spent countless hours making afghans for many of the special people and babies in her life. She was known not only for her incredible strength, but also for telling it exactly like it was and always making people laugh. All those who were blessed to know and loved her all have a "Nancy" story.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her children: Robin (Wayne) Solberg, James (Connie) Montgomery, Linda (Jeff) Knox, Roger Montgomery, Duane (Sylvia) Montgomery and "adopted" daughter Kim (Lanny) Nordhagen; her grandchildren: Chad (Misty) Solberg, Cheri (Chris) Jensen, Chase (Brittany) Solberg, Lexie Montgomery, Sarrah, Cari and Tiffani Montgomery, Katie (Will) Bohrer, Jordan (Benji) Schmitt, Kasey (Shelby) Knox, Kristine and Michael Cota, Jessica Simpson, Duane Montgomery, Jr., Lindsay (Mike) Thomsen, and Kelsey (Antonio) and Kale Nordhagen. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and her best friends: Betty McCall, Gene and Joan Olson, and Linda Eggen and family. She is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Alice Engh, son Dennis Keith, brothers Howard and Jerome Engh and dear friend Wava Lee (O’Connor).
