Fred attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, was a member of the Fairfield AmVets and the Adams County Fish & Game Association. He retired in 1996 after serving 25 years with the Gettysburg Boro Highway Department.
Survivors include his seven children; Robbie Fissel of Fayetteville, PA, Deborah Naugle of Ortanna, Sherry Warrenfeltz of Biglerville, PA, Ray Fissel of South Mountain, PA, Judy Duke of Fairfield, PA, Mark Fissel of Orrtanna and Jonathan Fissel of South Mountain, sixteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers; Henry and Merle Fissel and a great grandson.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield, PA with Rev. Susan McCarthy, officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Orrtanna, PA with Dave Sharrah, Dwight Warrenfeltz, Gregory Naugle, John Fissel, Ken Hankins and Aaron Fissel serving as pallbearers
