Christine Hicks, age 82, of Red Bud Lane in Spruce Pine went to her heavenly home for a family reunion on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab.
Born on April 1, 1935 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Jeter and Florence Dellinger McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Cleone and Glenn McKinney and her sister; Frances Ledford.
Christine loved the Lord and was a member of the Burleson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Christine Hicks on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Burleson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Arthur Buchanan, Scott Hicks, and Tracy Carpenter officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Harris Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations to; Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
