Muriel Thompson, 81, of Zebulon Highway, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.
She was born in Pikeville, Dec. 24, 1925, a daughter of the late Kirby K. and Rissa Fannin Conley
She was a member of the Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ester Thompson; one brother, John Wallace Conley; and three sisters, May Fern Thompson, Betty Collier and Ruth Elkins. Three sons Lonnie Gene, Adrian Kay and Thaddeus Dwight Thompson.
She is survived by three sons, Johnny Dwain Thompson of Florida, Donald Gene Thompson and Brian Keith Thompson, of Zebulon Highway, and Ester Darin Thompson of Kingsport, Tenn.; one daughter, Bernice Adkins of Zebulon Highway; one sister, Maggie Thompson of Florida; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Burning Springs Old Regular Baptist Church, Zebulon Highway with Bill Maynard, Gene Conley and others officiating.
Burial will follow in Burnette Cemetery, Zebulon Highway. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon
