Preston Williams, 73, a loving Dad and Papa was called home on June 12, 2017. He passed away in the presence of all four of his children, from lung cancer complications.
Funeral services are being handled by Fry-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1 5 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, TX. A Graveside service will be at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene TX at 9:00AM, Friday.

Honorary pallbearers are brothers in law, Jim Mayfield, Mike Mayfield, David Hill and Johnny Kraatz; grandsons Mike Breaux and Matthew Struble; and friends Larry Yacono, John Bland, Kirk Martin, Richard New, and Larry Pitcox.

Preston entered this world on October 12, 1943, in Gainesville, TX, born to Wilbur Lee and Fannie Williams. Preston was married to Jeannie Carol Mayfield for 26 years and together they had 4 children. He also served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps from 1966 - 1972.

Preston spent most of his life as an auto mechanic in Dallas, Abilene and then Tuscola prior to retirement. He had a passion early in life for stock car racing but he also loved campfire cooking, hunting, fishing, working on and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and many good friends.

He is survived by his son Tommy Williams and wife Theresa of Midland; daughter Ginger Arnott and husband Dave of Midlothian; daughter Carla Griffith and husband David of Albany;and son Gene Williams and wife Malissa of Buffalo Gap. Nine grandchildren: Josh, Richie, Kelsie, Abby, Ashley, Mike, Jessica, Emilie, and Matthew as well as sixteen great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his loving friend Sherry Browne from Abilene; former wife and mother of his children Carol Mayfield Graham, of Ovalo.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents and three great-grandchildren.
