SIERRA VISTA — Kenneth W. Huffman, 74, longtime resident of Sierra Vista, passed away at the Canyon View Hospital on June 8, 2017.

Ken was born in Versailles, Kentucky on April 30, 1943 to Henry B. and Nettie Belle Huffman. After graduating from High School, Ken joined the United States Navy and traveled the world.

After his Navy career Ken went to work for the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot in Lexington, Kentucky. While employed by the Bluegrass Army Depot, Ken spent many years working in Germany. In 1974, Ken transferred to Fort Huachuca in Arizona, where he worked for what is now known as The Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). Ken retired from Civil Service in 1999 and went to work for Science Application International (SAIC) in Sierra Vista, Arizona. While working as a contractor Ken traveled all over the world until finally retiring and making his home in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Ken is survived by one brother, Don Huffman (Mary Ann), who resides in Indian Trail, North Carolina. Ken is also survived by several nephews and a niece, as well as special friends Don and Peggy Bennett.

Ken is preceded in death by his Mother, Nettie Huffman, father Henry B. Huffman, and sister Beulah M. Turner.

Ken was a very special and kind person. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Ken had a private ceremony on June 15, 2017 and was laid to rest at the Southern Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
