Chloie Edith Jaggers Day was born in Ollie, Kentucky, on March 22, 1943, to George and May Hayes Jaggers. At the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 22 days, Chloie passed from this life at 2:25 a.m. on June 13, 2017, in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Survivors include one brother, Stoy Jaggers of Mammoth Cave; two sisters, Helen Brewer of Shepherdsville and Eva Ruth Oltman of Prospect; her loving husband of 55 years, Willis; daughters Laura Lea Day of Owensboro; Lisa Beth Day and her partner Travis Martin of Richmond; Destiny Dawn Butler and her husband T.C. Butler of Mammoth Cave; and grandchildren Riley Evan Day Roth, Olivia Grace Day Roth, Emily Mae Roth, Bristol Dawn Dakota Butler, and Anniston James Chloie Butler; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; four sisters, Sarah Pauline Vincent, Mildred Gipson, Romie Mae Vincent, and Beulah Ann Van Meter; and three brothers, Elmer Jaggers, Elza Edward Jaggers, and Sibert Wayne Jaggers.

As an eleven-year-old girl, Chloie was saved at a revival held by Brother Roy Sanders and Brother Clyde Caswell and joined Ollie United Baptist Church. She later joined Cove Hollow United Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member until her death.

In 1957, a boy at Cub Run High School saw Chloie step off the bus and walk toward the school, and he told his friend, "I'm going to marry that girl." Indeed he did. On May 5, 1962, Chloie and Willis Day were married by the Reverend Brice White in Prospect, Kentucky. This marriage brought the birth of Laura Lea in 1964 and Lisa Beth in 1967, and in 2004 Chloie and Willis decided to add a daughter to the family, Destiny. With the addition of each grandchild, the light of Chloie’s life grew brighter. Nearly every person who knew Chloie could share stories of her love, compassion, and generosity toward them in their greatest time of need as well as the joy she shared with them during their happiest times.

These are only a few words of her long, devout life to God and her family and friends. First Corinthians Chapter 13 reads, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” - Lisa Day (Daughter)
