Death Claims Mrs. Mary Millsaps, Pioneer Resident

Mrs. Mary Millsaps, aged 86, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Monday night at the home of Mrs. Laura Millsaps in Orland, where she had lived following a serious illness in April. Prior to her illness she lived many years alone at her home at Chrome where she was "Aunt Mary" to the entire country side.
Mrs. Millsaps was the widow of the late William Millsaps and is survived by her two sons, Alvin and Orrin Millsaps, two grandchildren, Mrs. Claude Gillaspy and Bernie Lee Millsaps, and four great grandchildren, Carol Fay and Glen Gillaspy and Susan and David Millsaps. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Burrows, who are listed among Glenn county's earliest pioneers and who settled near Chrome close to where Mrs. Millsaps spent her life. Also surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Elo Millsaps of Orland and Mrs. Ida Jameson of Santa Cruz and one brother, Aura Burrows of Chrome.
Graveside services were held yesterday in the Millsaps cemetery near Chrome with Rev. H.S. Saxby officiating. Pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Millsap; R.G. Burrows, Otto Burrows, Bernie Burrows, Marion Burrows, Elmer Ellis and Aura Millsaps. – Transcribed by M.
