Her parents were the late Paul Klose and Ester Tremmel.
On January 22, 1955, Ellie married her beloved husband. Together they celebrated over 62 wonderful years of marriage. She was self-employed in the bed and bath industry for over 25 years. She especially enjoyed art, carving decoys, and oil painting. She spent over 50 years cruising and racing. She and her husband were 4 times the Rebel Class National Champions from 1974 to 1983. She and her husband were avid travelers and enjoyed exploring new destinations. They attended 25 Elder Hostel Programs (now referred to as Road Scholars). Her family was her greatest pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.
Ellie was an active volunteer and loved helping others. She was the Mistress of Brent Garden Club of St. Mary’s City for 22 years and a docent at Historic St. Mary’s City for eight years. She was also a docent for Sotterley Planation for nine years. She volunteered over 2000 hours at the Calvert Marine Museum for over 26 dedicated years, and over 3000 hours with the Calvert Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Other memberships included the Solomons Island Yacht Club, the Southern Maryland Sailing Association, and the American Red Cross of Patuxent River.
In addition to her beloved husband, Ellie is also survived by her children, her brother, her grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Paul Klose.
