Virginia Cross Maxwell passed away June 13, 2017, at Erlanger Hospital. A long-time resident of Warren County, she taught in the public school system for 35 years and at Motlow State Community College for 7 years. She was a graduate of Tennessee Tech and earned her Master’s Degree at M.T.S.U.
Her husband of 70 years, Melvin Eugene Maxwell preceded her in death, and her parents, Herbert (Red) Cross and Julia May Cross. She is survived by her daughter Susan Cross Maxwell, a grandson Jason Daryl Hinds, a great-grandson Oakley Eugene-Russell Hinds, and a sister Janice Cross Fitzpatrick.
The funeral service will be held in the Historic Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. The Maxwell Family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again Sunday from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
