Sondra was the daughter of Abraham Davis Jr and Alice Jackson Davis. She was educated in the Houston County School System and was a graduate of Warner Robins High School in Warner Robins, Georgia. She was a 1980 graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Abraham "Bubba" Davis III.

2 Sisters: Beverly Davis Carter and Regenia Davis Durham.
