ORANGE PARK, FL - Joseph Curtis Hickman passed away on June 2, 2017. He was born on October 10, 1925 in Wiggins, S.C. to the late Joseph Bedon Hickman and Gertrude Ritter Hickman.

He was preceded in death by wives, Evropi Stratos Hickman and Annie Teal Hickman; son Jay Hickman, stepdaughter Lynette Coleman; and nine sisters and brothers. Joseph is survived by loving wife, Miriam T. Hickman, children, Wesley Hickman and Aedra Waggoner, step-children, Ralph Hudson (Shelia) Calvin Hudson (Susan). Christopher Hudson, John Smith and Leeann Martine (Paul); twelve grand children and twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Hickman Phillips (Suzanne), sister, Marjorie H. Brown; sister-in-law, Erma Hickman; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

Joseph spent 28 years service between the Coast Guard and Navy and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Folly Beach Baptist Church, American Legion, Fleet Reserve and a Shriner for over 60 years.

His business interests included Hickman Properties. Donations may be made in Joseph's memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children . Funeral services at a later date will be handled by J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home, Charleston, SC.
