Tommy (Tee Tee) Joe Martin, 58, of Independence, Kansas passed away on March 4, 2017 in Independence, Kansas. A home going celebration of Tee Tee's life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory with inurnment to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory.
Tee Tee was born July 14, 1958 in Independence, Kansas to Joseph Ruben and Wilma (Billings) Martin. Tee Tee graduated from Independence High School, following his graduation Tee Tee was employed by Hackney and Son and later by the City of Independence, Kansas with the Sanitation Department. He volunteered for Independence Community Commission of Approved Housing. Tee Tee will be remembered by his contagious smile and always riding his bike. Tee Tee's hobbies included fishing, collecting trains and spending time with his dogs.
Tee Tee was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to treasure his memory include three daughters, Erica Martin, Niesha (Randy) Miser, and Tequila Jones; one brother, John Martin, Carmelo, California; four sisters, Barbara Martin, Mesa, Arizona; Erma Martin, Mesa, Arizona; Georgetta Green-Cunningham (Jerry), San Tan Valley, Arizona; Cynthia Rowe, Independence, Kansas; six grandchildren, numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
