Muriel Edward Parlier age 88 of Martinsville, went to be with Lord on Sunday Jan. 3, 2016 at his home.

He was born Sept. 23, 1927 in Martinsville to the late Edgar Vance and Lillie Stout Parlier.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first wife Nellie Barrow Parlier, four brothers, Charles, Garland, Coy, and Claude Parlier, four sisters, Ethel Pigg, Lucille Mills, Sybil Taylor, and Virginia Knight.

Muriel was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII, worked for Rainbow Bakery for about 20 years, and Prillaman and Pace for over 20 years. He was a member of County Line Christian Church. Muriel Parlier was respected, admired and loved by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Delores M. Parlier of the home, two daughters, Karen and husband Bill Cray of Chino Valley, AZ, Cindy Clark of Fieldale, Heidi and husband Doug Scearce of Ridgeway, one sister, Willie ”Billie” Smith, three grandchildren, Walter and wife Michelle Ward of Chino Valley, AZ, Eric and wife Rebecca Clark of Jacksonville, FL, and Olivia Scearce of Ridgeway, seven great grandchildren, Kayla Ward, Ashley Ward, Amanda Ward, Justin Ward, and Mikka Ward, all of Chino Valley, AZ, Tyler Ward of Columbus, Ohio, and Amelia Thornton of Jacksonville, FL, and many other extended family members in Henry County.

Muriel’s Service of Remembrance will be Thursday Jan. 7, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary of County Line Christian Church with Pastor Dean Ashby officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 noon prior to the service at the church.
