Granville was the son of Elisha Fly Capps & Mary Ann Stout. He married Irene Watson on 30 Oct 1879 in Prescott, MO. They had 9 children: Jessie, Wm Roy-(m: Florence Clark), Nora Frances-(Mrs.John E. Cox, bur:Mt. Herman Cem.), Mary Belle-(Mrs.Charles E. Crumm), Letha Ellen-(Mrs.H. Condy Sharp), Bessie L.-(Mrs. L.D. Hawkins), Elbert A., Ira V., and Rev. Alphus Capps-(B:3 Apr 1891 D:3 June 1978, bur:Hickory Grove Cem., M; Iva R. Callahan, M: Susie Bridgforth in 1934). Granville assisted in the organization of Victor Baptist Church in a log schoolhouse in 1887; he was one of 9 charter members.
