OBITUARY
William L. Patterson
Memorial services for William Lytle Patterson, 79, of West Main Street, who died Sunday, May 3, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, from results of an auto accident, are set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Gregory and the Rev. Eugene Cotey will officiate.
His parents were the late John William Patterson and Josephene McGuire Patterson.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Atwood Patterson of Murfreesboro; son, William L. Patterson III of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Carol Patterson Beck of Advance, N.C., Irene Patterson Toperzysek of Van Nuys, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
A member of the First Baptist Church and the Sons of American Revolution, he was a U.S. Navy torpedo bomber pilot in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and was a retired lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve. He was the former owner of Tennessee Red Cedar Wooden Ware Co., and a real estate appraiser.
Visitation will be held after the memorial service Tuesday at the First Baptist Church.
