Steven Beam Steven Ray Beam, 70, of Donna TX, passed away March 8, 2014, at Stormont-Vail Health Center. Steve was born August 17, 1943, in Richland KS to Ward and Anna Mary (Hackel) Beam. He graduated from Winchester High School in 1960. Steve married Alice Schmalfeldt in Miami OK in 1972. They enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. Steve retired from Jeffery Energy Center after 26 years of service. Steve and Alice retired to Donna TX after living in St Mary's for 23 years. They were full time RVers for ten years. Steve loved camping, Nascar, and dirt track racing. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant the world to him. Survivors include his wife, Alice, Donna TX; son, Lenny (Gloria) Best, Daytona Beach Area FL; daughter, Tina (Ron) Justvig, Wakarusa KS; Dave (Debbie) Beam, Herington KS; 17 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Deloris) Beam, Circleville KS; sister, Karon Baker, Burlingame KS. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ward Beam, sister Vicky Jo Coffman, and daughter Cathy McNolty. A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home.
