Bill was a tall (6'3) lovable man. He worked as a machinist in the Detroit, MI area for many years. He enjoyed cooking a great pot of ham hocks and lima beans. Bill had some favored well-seasoned cast iron cooking pans, that his daughter-in-law thoroughly scrubbed by mistake. He took it all in-stride. He loved watching his granddaughter roam around the old Seward Street apartment in Detroit in the early 1970s. Bill enjoyed the camaraderie of neighborhood friends in the Seward St restaurant lounge after a hard day at work. He was well liked and respected.
Much to his family's grief, he died unexpectedly from a heart attack. He is buried next to his parents Joseph and Evaline Ferguson and his brother Howard Ferguson. Later, the cremains of Annabelle Ferguson and Patrick Ferguson were added at the foot of Bill.
