She attended KS State Univ where she received a bachelors and masters degree in education. She taught for 35 years in the Shawnee Mission School District at both the Jr and Sr high school levels. Upon retirement, she became an active member of the JOCO Master Gardeners. She continued her passion for teaching by establishing a program at the elementary school level for Jr Master Gardeners. At the time of her death, she was actively pursuing solutions for homeless people in the south JOCO area. Her desire to serve stayed with her through the whole of her life. In addition, she loved her family time, travel, exercise and all things associated with nature.
