Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at First Presbyterian Church, Moline, with The Rev. Dr. Greg Graybill officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the services. Cremation will follow the funeral at Trimble Crematory, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery, Woodhull, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the church.
The former Elizabeth Swanson was born April 19, 1922, in Oneida, Illinois, to George and Anna Peterson Swanson. She married Charles Lester Olson on January 19, 1946, in Oneida. He died February 18, 2008. She was a farmer's wife and ran the books for the farm. She earlier had been employed as secretary to the plant manager for John Deere Planter Works. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in both Moline and Woodhull, and a member of Chapter L of PEO Sisterhood, Woodhull.
Elizabeth is survived by three children, Jean Slott of Oswego, Illinois, Jay Olson of LeClaire, Iowa, and Joan Kelley and her husband John of Palatine, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jason Slott, Amy Slott, Tyler Olson and his wife Allison, and Megan, Andrew and Mitchell Kelley; and a great-granddaughter, Quinn Elizabeth Olson. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jeffrey Olson; a grandson, William Kelley; a son-in-law, Michael Slott; and three brothers.
