Jessie Ray Greene, age 84, of Wilkesboro, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born February 12, 1933 in Wilkes County to Jim and Viola Gentry Greene. Mr. Greene was a US Army Veteran and retired from NC Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Martha Trivette Greene.
Surviving are his sons, Joey Greene, Benjamin Greene and wife Kathrine both of North Wilkesboro; daughter, Sherry Greene Brooks of North Wilkesboro; sister, Susanna Dyer of Purlear; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Hall officiating. Entombment with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 1142 will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 on Wednesday, prior to the service.
