Mr. Dewayne Callebs, 60, of Callebs Creek, passed away Monday morning, June 12, 2017 at his home. He was the son of the late Loyd and Nollie Carmack Callebs born on September 20, 1956 in Knox County.

He was a former truck driver with England Trucking Company and a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. He loved his dogs, the outdoors, music, playing the drums and above all he loved spending time with his family.

On June 16, 1984, he united in marriage with Greta Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Lois and Corena Callebs and Wanda Hensley and a brother, Chester Callebs.

Survivors include his loving wife, Greta Callebs; two children, Maegan Lamont and friend, Reggie Brown, and Adam Callebs and friend, Megan Meade; two sisters, Esselene Hammons and husband, Virgil, and Shirley Mills, all of Callebs Creek; his in-laws, Melvin and Eller Smith; a sister-in-law, Valerie Warren and husband, Greg; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, June 14 at 6 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Broughton and Rev. Nicholas Gunn officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be friends and family. Honorary bearers will be Johnny Townsley and Virgil Hammons.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 2 P.M. until the funeral hour.
