Barbara was born June 17, 1939 in Pontiac, Illinois and was adopted by John and Estella Felmley. After Estella’s death, she was adopted by John’s second wife, Beatrice Stephenson Felmley.
Surviving are her brother, Jerry Felmley of Tucson, AZ; two sons, Eugene D. Funk IV and John Benjamin Funk, both of Bloomington; and three grandchildren, McLean Funk of Naperville and Conner Cox and Davis Funk, both of Bloomington.
Barbara graduated from Bloomington High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She worked for the United Way of McLean County and was Executive Director of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Barbara was also a real estate agent and provided home health care.
Barb was a long-time volunteer for Brokaw Hospital, later Advocate BroMenn and memorial contributions may be made to the Advocate BroMenn Service Auxiliary.
Barb was grateful for the support of her numerous friends during her illness. Her family would also like to thank Heritage Health for their compassionate care as well as extend their gratitude to her caregivers, Elvia and Isabel.
