Asa Kenney that married Mehitable Stockwell, was the son of Theophilus Kenney and Jemima Pond, NOT Daniel Kenney Jr. and Elizabeth Stockwell. There are numerous facts to allow for the most definitive of proof, but this forum is much too short to list them all, and the dissertation that is required. If anyone is interested in a one on one confirmation of various citations and details I am more than happy to oblige.

Asa married Mehitable Stockwell in Sutton on 24 July 1762.

They had 7 children, John (named after Mehitable's father John and her younger half brother John who had been killed in the French and Indian war), Mehitable, Asa Jr., Lucy, Simeon (died young), a second Simeon, and Jesse (named after Asa's youngest brother)

There is no death record ascribed to Asa in Early Vital Records, however, the death record as listed in Early Vital's for a Mr. Stephen Kenney (Asa's next youngest brother)on 8 Nov 1806 is wrong! Stephen Kenney was alive(as well as Mary his wife)until at least Feb of 1820 as he was under legal guardianship, as he was a person deemed Non-Compos or "lunatic" in 1802, and all of his continuing care costs and estate accounting is all found in Stephen's probate records for over a period of 18 years. Asa's probate date initial request was on 8th Dec 1806, so death date of 8 Nov 1806 fits perfectly for this date to absolutely be Asa. Oldest son John requested to be executor due to the age of Mehitable, although she lived for another 25 years.

While there is no known stone found for Asa, in his son John's accounting for final expenses, a cost of $2.50 was listed for a headstone, interment was surely in the West Millbury Cemetery as this was very close to the land he lived on near the Ramshorn, near some of the same land as his father and grandfather, and father-in-law and grandfather-in-law. Asa's oldest son John and 7 of his 11 children are in the West Millbury and have stones.
