Richard "Ritchie" Dale Roberts, 92, of Burnsville, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Bath County on June 22, 1929, a son of the late Clarence Lacy and Mary Virginia (Pullin) Roberts. On December 22, 1950 he married Twila Jane Burns who preceded him in death on March 27, 2006.

Ritchie had retired from Hammond Mitchell Construction and worked as a self-employed carpenter and pulpwood logger. He enjoyed speaking with people when he and his wife operated Roberts Grocery. Ritchie also enjoyed working in his garden and deer hunting. He will be remembered as a hardworking and good-natured man, as he was always willing to help his community and those in need.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ritchie was predeceased by a son, Michael Wayne Roberts; grandson, Jason Roberts; and great-grandson, James "Ben" Benjamin Curtis; and brothers, Randall, Grady Sr., Lacy, Cletis and Raymond Roberts.

A graveside funeral service will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Burnsville Cemetery with Pastor David George officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Logan and Dylan Armstrong, Chad Wilfong, Devin Duncan, Ray Huffman, Jamie Roberts and Brandon Maddox.

The staff of Obaugh Funeral Home will receive family and friends wishing to pay their respects between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, May 27 at Obaugh Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Burnsville Cemetery, c/o Betty Dunnagan, 4593 Muddy Run Road, Burnsville, Va. 24487.
