Rebecca Sledd Lynch, 88, born 1926 in Roanoke, daughter of the late James H. and Maggie Hannabass Sledd of Roanoke, long time resident of Montvale and the widow of the late James (Jim) H. Lynch also of Montvale, went to be with the Lord having died quietly at her son's home in Culpeper, on January 2nd 2015 surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her brother, James E. Sledd of Roanoke, three sons, four daughter and their spouses, Dennis and Judy Ann Lynch of Culpeper, Judy I. and Wendell J. Johnson Sr. of Winchester, Kenneth and Teresa Lynch of Goodview, Bonnie and Richard Holloway of Winchester, Teresa G. and Steve Gabrielli of Flower Mound, Texas, Deborah S. and S. Michael Knecht of Sterling, Daniel W. Lynch of Buchannan; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Friends may come to call on the family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Oakey's North Chapel, 6732 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. Viewing will be followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road Northwest, Roanoke, VA 24017, officiated by her grandson, Reverend Jeremy Johnson.
