Iva Dell lived in the Troy area all of her life. She loved to visit with people and enjoyed a fun argument when she thought she was right. If anyone had a question about Troy history, Iva Dell was the person to ask. She loved living on the farm and was one of the hardest working women you could ever meet. While she was away from work, she enjoyed being outside fishing, mowing the grass, listening to the birds, and working with cattle. She also enjoyed making afghans, doing jigsaw puzzles, and watching soap operas and old westerns. Iva Dell loved her kids dearly and was happy to spend time with all of them. She will be greatly missed and dearly remembered.
She is survived by three children, Dennis Roberts of Eldon, Iowa, Mike (Danita) Roberts of Bloomfield, Carol (Dewey) Coatney of Troy; five grandchildren, Thomas Roberts, Jenni Roberts, Alissa (Joey) Swarts, Troy Roberts, Trisha (Casey) Keim; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lillian Ritz of Bloomfield, Lovetta Jarvis of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jerry Lee Roberts; infant brother, Richard Law; and a close friend, Bill Jones.
Graveside services with burial of the cremated remains will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Troy Cemetery with Rev. Donna Olinger officiating. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. A memorial has been established to the Troy Methodist Church.
