Paul Trenton "Trent" Barber, 53, quietly passed away in his sleep Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Goldston Baptist Church, Goldston. A reception will follow the service at the church.

Trent was born May 7, 1962 in Lee County, NC to Betty Sellers Barber and William Donald Barber.

He was a well known and talented artist, drawing pen and ink throughout his life with the majority of his works completed in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

He resided with his mother in Carthage where he cared for her in failing health due to a rare form of cancer.

He is survived by his mother Betty Barber; daughter Heather Lea Jones and her mother Mary Gail Hatton; granddaughter McKenna Jones; brother Donald Ray Barber; uncle Ronald Paul Sellers; father William Donald Barber and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Trent joins his beloved sister and guardian angel Crystal who went to heaven in 1981.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to the American Cancer Society.
