Emma Irene Nicholson, 94, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at New Haven Living Center in Odessa.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone, MO.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses.
 
Emma was born February 1, 1923, in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel L. and Pearl M. Wilson.  She was a home health caregiver.  Emma raised her children on her own and loved her family unconditionally.  She would always provide for others before herself.
 
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Russell “Morris” and Roy Wilson; and five sisters: Freda, Leta, Annie, Nadine, and Mary.
 
Her survivors include five children: Mike Nicholson (Chris) of Liberty, MO, Ida Mae Bellew of Independence, MO, Angela Blancas of Independence, Jim Childress of Independence, and David Childress of Grain Valley, MO; one sister, Chicky Washam of Odessa; one brother, Bob Wilson of Gladstone; eighteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
