Christian Koye Brown, 13, received his angel wings on June 4, 2017 as he was surrounded with never-ending love from his family at his home in Kearney, Mo.

Christian battled with Sanfilippo Syndrome, a rare genetic terminal disease, since birth. Throughout his life he endured multiple hospital stays to assist with his fight against this disease and life was anything but simple for such a strong soul. Christian was idealized by his family and friends for his strength and courage he had shown daily, and a true blessing to his parents and everyone that came in his path. His laughter, love, and courage will be missed dearly, but always remembered.

Christian touched the lives of many people with his joyful personality and love for others. His smile and laughter are now only memories but will never be forgotten. He was a fighter with strength and courage as he battled life living with Sanfilippo Syndrome, but it did not keep him from enjoying his life. Christian loved the outdoors and would watch for the deer to pass. During car rides he would say "deer" and watch out the window looking for one. He loved music and watching his favorite cartoons, he favored Sponge Bob, Shrek and the movie Herbie. He had a large collection of stuffed animals and would carry one with him everywhere he went. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His family and friends loved him so much and are suffering a great loss.

Christian had many wonderful people in his life that loved him. Over the years he had caregivers, doctors, nurses, medics, social workers and therapist that provided support and love to enhance his quality of life. They helped bring joy into Christian's life and gave him the encouragement he needed to continue his fight.

Christian was a son, brother, grandchild and cousin survived by his parents, Ronald Brown and JoLynn Wilson; brothers, Isaiah and Wyatt Brown; sister, Brooklynn O’Cain; grandparents, Geraldine Stephan, and Janet and Russell Lawrence; aunts, Jessica Miller, Wanda Jackson, Lora Hull, and Becky Meidinger; uncles, Justin and Robert Stevenson; and seven cousins that loved him dearly.

Two separate Memorial Services will be held to honor Christian. A service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 12:00 p.m at South Baptist Church in Liberty. After Christian's service located at South Liberty Church there will be a balloon release in memory of Christian. Those who would like to release a balloon are asked to bring one of any color to release.

A second service on Saturday, June 17, 2017 will be held at 3:00 p.m at First Baptist Church in Kearney.

All friends, family, caretakers, EMT’s and medical staff that helped care for Christian are welcome to attend either service.
