Glenna M. Fisher, 87 of Bedford, died on June 9, 2017, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
She was born on November 23, 1929, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Glen and Martha (Bawkley) Horner.
On November 30, 1946, in Bedford, she married Frank J. Fisher and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1988.
She is survived by three daughters: Karen Rose, of Naples, FL, Katherine Claycomb and husband Dean, of Bedford, Jeanne Latshaw and husband Harry, of York; four grandchildren: Joe Rose, Scott Claycomb, Amy Cessar, and Rachael Hale; nine great grandchildren; and two great -great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother John "Bud" Horner.
Glenna was a member and former member of the women’s guild at the St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She owned and worked a beef farm with her husband. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, Bedford Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution, National Society United States Daughters of 1812, and Descendants of Civil War Veterans. She enjoyed researching local history and genealogy. She loved her family, flowers, cooking and baking.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Bedford, with Father Richard Tomkosky officiating.
Visitation will be private. Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Glenna’s name to the Messiah Lutheran Church, c/o Joanne Hammond, 344 Messiah Church Road, Bedford, PA 15522.
