WESTFIELD Donald Allen Fritz, 77, of Westfield, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA.

He was born January 9, 1940 in Chambersburg, PA, the son of the late Allen and Anna Mae Graham Fritz.

Donald had worked for Welchs in Westfield as a Product Developer.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield where he served as an Elder, an umpire for high school softball, and a graduate of Frostburg University in Frostburg, MD.

Donald enjoyed collecting stamps, watching the local trains, wood working, and was an avid sports fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Phillies.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Fritz-Eaton of MI and Sarah Fritz of Westfield; a niece and several nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Freay Funeral Home. Pastor Catherine Reily Goddard will officiate. Entombment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Chambersburg, PA.

The family will receive friends for one hour before the service (12 p.m.) in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield Mission Fund, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield, NY 14787, or to the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, 189 East Main St., Westfield, NY 14787.
