Rebecca Seat "Becky" James
Rebecca Seat James "Becky" of Franklin, TN, age 86, passed away September 20, 2014. She was born on Fairlawn Farm in Murfreesboro, TN in 1928.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John H. James, Jr.; daughters, Debbie (Brad) Plumley, Peggy (Mike) Vietti; brother, Tom (Eleanor) Seat; grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Drees, Josh (Angela) Plumley, Wes (Emili) Plumley, Matt (Susan) Vietti, John (Veronica Garcia) Vietti; and great-grandchildren, Lea, Samuel, Josiah, Gabriel and Christian Plumley.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State College in Murfreesboro, TN, Becky was a Metro Nashville Public Schools teacher for 17 years, and a retired Manufacturers Representative in the home furnishings accessory industry.
She was a member of the Colonial Dames of America and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as a past Regent of The General Frances Nash Chapter DAR in Nashville.
She was a long time active member of Brentwood United Methodist Church, participated in the United Methodist Women, Robert I. Moore Sunday School Class, and served as a past chairman of the Alter Guild.
A Memorial service will be held in the sanctuary of Brentwood United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 25th at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m., in the narthex preceding the service.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Robert I. Moore Sunday School Class of Brentwood United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alter Guild of Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd., Brentwood, TN 37027; Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203; or a charity of your choice.
