Vivian A. Kennedy, 102 years old, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017. A small graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
Vivian was born February 12, 1915 in Louisiana. Vivian joined her husband John Kennedy in Heaven the day before their 82nd wedding anniversary. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Linda Jeffus of Lubbock, husband Charlie, granddaughter Leslie Riley & husband Brett of Lubbock, grandson John Jeffus & wife Susan of Dallas, granddaughters April Hobson of Lubbock and Amy Morgan and husband Scott of Missouri and thirteen grandchildren. She is preceded in death by daughter Karnell Hobson of Lubbock.
Her greatest joy in life has always been caring, giving comfort & love to those around her. She touched the life of everyone who has been blessed to know her and call her friend. Having a servant's heart was as natural to her as breathing. She greeted others with an open hand, open heart and a seat at the table. Some of her family's greatest memories were around that table sharing laughter, love, stories and homemade biscuits. Vivian had a gift for expressing herself through written word. She shared her innermost emotions through the beautiful poems she composed.
For 102 years, she was the heart of the family and her legacy transcends the generations. She was a true example of God's love and a true Proverbs 31 woman.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lakeridge Nursing Home. Thank you for providing loving care, showing compassion & support for our treasured angel.
