Martha Jane “Janie” Rodgers passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Lakeside Nursing Center at the age of 89. She was born April 10, 1928 to John and Stella Weber of Rector.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Frank “Buster” Rodgers, a brother, R.C. Weber and a sister: Gerline Brummet and a grandson: Danny Brett Rodgers.
She was a member of Cappadocia General Baptist Church and a member of
the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved working with her husband on the farm and attending cattle shows and fairs. She enjoyed gardening cooking, sewing and loved watching Marmaduke basketball games.
She is survived by a son: Danny Rodgers (Martha) of Pocahontas, a daughter: Sue
Speer (Aaron) of Marmaduke, 5 grandchildren: Tara Young of Jonesboro, Ryan
Rodgers of Pocahontas, Kelly McCormick of Heber Springs, Stacey Speer of Marmaduke and Kristy Rowe of Paragould, 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The visitation will start at 1:00 at Irby Funeral Home in Marmaduke, Sunday June 11,2017 with the service at 2:00 with Brother Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
Pallbearers will be Chad Agee, Mike Vowell, Grant Speer, Corey Rowe, Zachary
McCormick and Ryan Rodgers.
