Campbell - Fred Beckett, 86, of Campbell passed away, Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri.

Fred, the son of Mack E. and Leona J. Compton Beckett, was born on November 8, 1929, in Hinch, Missouri.

He attended a one room schoolhouse. Fred was called into the ministry at age 19 after being healed of a terminal heart condition.

On October 19, 1951, he was united in marriage to Roberta Helena Jane Cavenah. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Fred attended North Central Bible College. Fred became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He pastored at many churches starting in Winnebago, Minnesota. From there they pastored at the following: Montgomery City, Missouri; Creal Springs, Illinois; Crocker, Missouri; Campbell, Missouri; and Houston, Missouri. In several of these churches he was instrumental in the building of new churches.

He held many other jobs including school bus driver, Meals on Wheels, various Nutrition Centers, gas station manager, Sears and Roebuck, City of Campbell, and church camp volunteers.

He was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, on June 5, 2015, his parents and five brothers; Adolph, Oren, Alvin, David, John, and one granddaughter; Anna Helena.

He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Barr of Montgomery City, Missouri, Kathy Beckett of Stuart, Florida; two sons, Garry Beckett and wife, Kimberly of Campbell, Danny Beckett and wife, Cheryl of Cody, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Beckett and wife, Barbara of Bourbon, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri, followed by a brief remembrance led by Bro. Bruce Vinson. On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, a visitation and funeral service with Rev. Stan Welch officiating will begin at 1 pm at the Bourbon First Assembly of God Church with a burial following at Bourbon City Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of arrangements.
