Amy Vera Galloway Crabtree, was the 9th of 13 children born to James Madison and Lizzie Bell Cook Galloway. She went to work in local mill at age 12 and continued working there until shortly after her marriage to Robert Lee Lester Crabtree 25 May 1935. She had 3 sons, 1 daughter, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia
