Betty Mae Adams 79, Iberia, died Aug 4, 1999, at Balanced Care, Dixon. She was born March 2, 1920, in Devils Elbow, a daughter of Herbert and Ollie Carter Ross. She was married July 9, 1947, in Little Rock, Ark., to Loran Adams, who died May 16, 1994.



She worked for many years at Fort Leonard Wood. She co-owned and co-operated Adams and Casey Funeral Home, Iberia, from 1947-1950. She worked for L. B. Manufacturing, Iberia, from 1959 until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Iberia First Baptist Church and was a 52-year member of Iberia Order of the Eastern Star.



Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Groves, Iberia; one stepdaughter, Anne Foster, Blue Springs; two sisters, Margie Vierria and Margurite Carter, both of the state of California; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. One stepson, Leon Adams, preceded her in death.



Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Walt Pollard will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Phelps County Regional Medical Center Hospice.
