Matthew Wayne Beard, age 24 years, of Hillsdale, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 at his home after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born March 18, 1982 in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Arthur Wayne and Sue Ellen (Smelts) Beard. Matthew worked at Cline Brothers Roofing and A B & D Construction. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, working on cars and playing video games.
Surviving Matthew is his mother, Sue (Philip) Brown of Dayton, Ohio, fiancée, Danielle Miller and her children, Lexie and Jacob all of Hillsdale, grandparents, Mary Beard of Hillsdale, William (Marilyn) Smelts of Ransom, sisters, Ann (William) James of Hillsdale, Amber Nicole Brown of Dayton and step brother Justin Brown of Bryan, Ohio and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather, Jacob Moses Beard and grandmother, Elsie May Brown.
